  • Meals for students during the strike

    PPS is providing "Grab and Go" meals at Jackson MIddle School for free for all kids, ages 1-18 and all current PPS students. Meals will be available for pick up on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, between 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, beginning on Wednesday, November 1.

    Meals will be distributed from the auditorium doors (7th grade entrance) which are the north doors in the circular drive. 

  • Parent/Teacher Conferences

    Parent-teacher conferences are right around the corner!

    Monday, November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st

     8:30am to 8pm

    Like last year, families will have the option of in-person or online conferences. Regardless of which format you choose, you will need to sign up for a slot for each teacher who you’d like to meet with. You can do so at .

    (Please be sure to write in the comments section whether you plan to attend in person or online for each of the meetings.)

  • Resources for hard conversations

    Our media is flooded with images and stories coming out of Ukraine right now, and students may have questions, or need help thinking and talking critically about the information they are getting. These are general resources for engaging in conversations about harmful situations and news, with more specific resources to come as they are available. Our community is impacted on many levels by events around the globe, and yet it is important for us to help students understand that our neighbors are still our neighbors. The people of our community are still of our community, and it is our privilege and responsibility to look out for one another.

  • Roseway Heights Principal Honored for Commitment to Equity

    Principal Phu Dao is many things to the students and staff of Roseway Heights Middle School: mentor, role model, champion, friend. Ask anyone who has learned from and 皇家华人ed with him and they will tell you that he has dedicated his entire career to advocating for students, families, and educators. And now he’s being honored for that dedication.

    Courageous Conversation, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit that 皇家华人s with individuals and institutions to address racial disparities through sustained, fruitful dialogue, has named Principal Dao this year’s recipient of the Dr. Charles Hopson Racial Equity Principal Leadership Award.

    We need our community and PAT’s bargaining team to recognize that we are not unwilling to accept their proposal: we are unable. Even the proposal we have made will require at least $45 million in structural budget cuts over the next three years.

    The PPS bargaining team had planned to stay into the night so the teams could continue to bargain. PAT chose to leave before hearing our counter proposal. We remain at the bargaining table. We will stay into the night. We will 皇家华人 weekends. We will do what it takes to reach a negotiated settlement and 皇家华人 schools open.
