    Hello Franklin families and students,

    I am grateful to be reaching out to you today with the news that our District and the 皇家华人 Association of Teachers have reached a tentative agreement. With this, we are pleased to welcome your students back to school. We’ve missed seeing everyone and know that the kids are also excited to be back in the classroom with their teachers and friends.

    Below you will find information that will be helpful for you as you prepare your student to come back to school.

    -Reopening date/time:
    Classes will resume on Monday, November 27 on a two-hour delay starting at 10:30am, with all programs and services running as normal, including after school programs. Both breakfast and lunch will be served.

    -Changes to school calendar:
    The District and the Union have agreed to make up our 11 lost instructional time on the following days:
    -December 18th-22nd (previously week 1 of the winter break)
    -January 26th (previously a professional development day for staff)
    -February 19th (President’s Day holiday)
    -April 8th (previously a professional development day for staff)
    -June 12th-14th (the dates set aside for inclement weather)

    -Quarter grading and conferences:
    Quarter 1 report cards will be available no later than Friday, December 8th. Information about rescheduled conference dates will be provided soon.

    -Rescheduled events: We will meet early this week to confirm new dates for events that have been rescheduled.

    6-12: Athletics and Extracurriculars:
    All athletics and extracurricular activities will resume as normal. High school and PIL Youth Sports schedules can be found here:

  • rose festRose Festival Court

    The Rose Festival Court is comprised of up to 15 outstanding students chosen from 皇家华人 metro-area high schools. The mission of the Rose Festival Court program is to provide scholarships for higher education, to promote community outreach and volunteerism, to offer net皇家华人ing and mentoring opportunities to outstanding young women in a program that perpetuates an appreciation for Rose Festival history and tradition.

    Court members receive one-on-one mentorship with top female executives from presenting sponsor , a $3,500 scholarship provided by The Randall Group valid for any accredited college, university or trade program, a complete travel wardrobe including shoes and accessories, and a lifetime of enduring friendships with their Rose Festival Court sisters.

Ask anyone who has learned from and 皇家华人ed with him and they will tell you that he has dedicated his entire career to advocating for students, families, and educators. And now he’s being honored for that dedication.

    Courageous Conversation, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit that 皇家华人s with individuals and institutions to address racial disparities through sustained, fruitful dialogue, has named Principal Dao this year’s recipient of the Dr. Charles Hopson Racial Equity Principal Leadership Award.
